Firefox 1.5 Beta is out.

Simon Willison reports that: “Firefox 1.5 beta is the most exciting browser release in a very long time. It comes with the Gecko 1.8 rendering engine, which includes a ton of interesting new features. ”

New in this version:

* SVG
* Canvas
* CSS3 Columns
* JavaScript 1.6

Before you upgrade to the 1.5 beta, make sure you can live without all your extensions… Dougal Campbell mentioned that: “The only thing I regret about trying the betas is that most of my extensions don’t work anymore..”

Edit:

Looks like there is a trick to make some of the old extensions work in Firefox 1.5 . Take a look at LiewCF.com for the temporary solution.
